What is the WATS NFC Metal Card?

The WATS NFC Metal Card is a military-grade physical card you tap to an NFC-enabled phone to authenticate access to your non-custodial WATS Wallet and tap-to-sign transactions. It is a companion device for access — not a payment card and not key storage. It embeds an NTAG 216 chip and is MIL-STD-810 durable; the steel card is also IP68 waterproof.

How it works

  1. Tap to authenticate

    Hold the card to an NFC-enabled smartphone to verify your identity and unlock access to your WATS Wallet accounts. The NTAG 216 chip carries a unique card ID and works only with the phone it is paired to.

  2. NFC tap-to-sign

    Pair the card with the WATS mobile app to confirm signatures with a physical tap, adding a physical confirmation step on top of biometric unlock. The card itself holds no keys.

  3. Order and personalize

    Buy the card at store.watswallet.com, choose a set with plastic or 304 stainless steel cards, and add an optional UV custom print of your logo, artwork, or photo.
