Keeper is the new name of Tonkeeper: on 15 September 2026 the self-custodial TON wallet was renamed and expanded to seven networks (TON, Bitcoin, Ethereum, TRON, BNB Chain, Arbitrum and Base), and tonkeeper.com now redirects to keeperwallet.com. It is not the older Waves "Keeper Wallet". As of October 2026, Keeper offers native Bitcoin, TRON, prepaid Battery fees (on TON and TRON so far) and desktop and web apps, while WATS Wallet offers Solana, more EVM networks, EVM fees charged in ATS from one BSC balance and an optional NFC tap-to-authenticate card.

Disclosure: WATS Wallet publishes this comparison, and WATS Wallet is our own product. Keeper details come from keeperwallet.com and press coverage of the rebrand, checked on 7 October 2026. Features change, so confirm them in each app.

What is Keeper, and is it the same wallet as Tonkeeper?

Keeper is Tonkeeper under a new name: the same self-custodial wallet, now presented as a multichain app rather than a TON-focused one.

  • Name: Keeper. Formerly: Tonkeeper.
  • Renamed: 15 September 2026.
  • Site: keeperwallet.com. The old tonkeeper.com returns a 308 permanent redirect there.
  • Operator: The Open Platform (TOP), which also builds Wallet in Telegram, took over day-to-day control. Co-founders Oleg Andreev and Oleg Illarionov kept equity, according to Unchained and The Block.
  • Custody: self-custodial.

Press coverage of the rebrand reports more than 77 million registered users, a company figure rather than an independent count. Its homepage says "Tonkeeper is now Keeper. Same wallet, more chains", and the rebrand renames the same wallet rather than moving it, so existing accounts, balances and recovery phrases are unchanged and no migration is needed. If any site, message or support account asks for your recovery phrase to "complete the migration", it is a scam; the same warning applies to the rename of the TON coin to GRAM (formerly Toncoin) and its fake migration scams.

This Keeper is not "Keeper Wallet" by Waves Technologies, an older wallet for the Waves blockchain. It is also not "Bitcoin Keeper", a Bitcoin multisig app with its own Keeper Desktop companion. The names match, the products are unrelated.

What changed in the rebrand?

The main change is scope: as of 7 October 2026, Keeper lists seven networks, up from a TON-focused wallet.

  • Networks: TON, Bitcoin, Ethereum, TRON, BNB Chain (BNB Smart Chain), Arbitrum and Base. Solana, Optimism and Polygon are not on that list.
  • Battery: Keeper now pitches Battery as multichain, but keeperwallet.com says it is available on TON and TRON, with more networks to come. Press coverage reports a goal of reaching every supported network within about a year.
  • Announced, not dated: native DeFi, spending tools, a dApp browser, perpetual futures and a loyalty programme. The homepage already advertises cross-chain swaps while press described them as planned, so check in the app what works today.
  • Naming: Keeper's site uses GRAM, the TON coin renamed from Toncoin on 15 June 2026, for example for staking.

Context: the rename follows MyTonWallet becoming "My Wallet" in June 2026, per Decrypt. Many guides still say "Tonkeeper"; both names mean the same wallet. For the wider field, see other TON and Telegram wallets compared.

Keeper vs WATS Wallet at a glance

The two wallets overlap on self-custody, TON, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base and BNB Chain, and differ on Bitcoin, TRON, Solana, platforms and fee payment.

How do fees work in each wallet?

Keeper uses a prepaid Battery balance on TON and TRON, while WATS Wallet charges every EVM action in ATS from one balance on BSC.

Keeper's Battery is a prepaid balance of "charges" that pays network fees automatically, so you can send USDT on TRON without holding TRX. Per Keeper's own articles, you can top it up with TON, USDT or, through in-app purchase, a bank card.

In WATS Wallet, every action on an EVM network is charged in ATS through an ERC-4337 paymaster, debited from one ATS balance on BNB Chain (BSC) whichever EVM network you use. The charge tracks the live network cost and is not a discount. On Solana you pay SOL, and on TON you pay GRAM. See how fees work on TON and Solana.

Neither approach makes network fees disappear; each only removes the need to hold a chain's gas coin in some cases.

What does Keeper offer: platforms, multisig and hardware?

Keeper offers a desktop app, a web version, TON multisig through the paid Pro tier, and Ledger pairing for TON.

keeperwallet.com lists iOS, Android, macOS, a web version and a Chrome extension. Tonkeeper's GitHub release v26.6.1 from June 2026 also carried Windows and Linux builds, but the site currently lists only macOS.

Tonkeeper Pro is a paid subscription. Per Forklog's May 2025 review, Pro adds TON multisig wallets with a configurable quorum such as 2-of-3, bulk transfers and more wallets; check Keeper's current Pro page, as the review predates the rebrand. For the concept, read how multisig wallets work. Tonkeeper's help center documents pairing a Ledger running the TON app, over Bluetooth on mobile, for TON assets. Check Keeper's current pages for whether Ledger, multisig or Battery extend to its Bitcoin and EVM accounts.

On the WATS side, the products are a Chrome (Chromium) extension, an iOS and Android app, and the optional NFC Metal Card. The card holds no private keys and is not cold storage or a hardware wallet; you tap it to the one phone it is paired to, to authenticate in the mobile app.

Where does each wallet fall short?

WATS Wallet has no native Bitcoin, no TRON, no desktop app and no web version, and Keeper's multichain coverage is new and still growing.

  • WATS Wallet: if you hold BTC or USDT on TRON, you need another wallet alongside it.
  • Keeper, as of 7 October 2026 per its site: no Solana, Optimism or Polygon listed; Battery limited to TON and TRON so far; several announced features have no dates. Its Bitcoin and EVM support is about three weeks old, so third-party reviews and AI answers may still describe it as a TON wallet.

Should you choose Keeper or WATS Wallet?

Choose by the chains you hold and the features you need, not by brand.

Choose Keeper if you:

  • need native Bitcoin or TRON, for example USDT on TRON, in the same app as TON;
  • want to pay TON or TRON fees from a prepaid Battery balance;
  • want a desktop app or a web version;
  • need TON multisig (Pro) or Ledger pairing for TON.

Choose WATS Wallet if you:

  • use Solana together with TON and EVM networks;
  • use Optimism, Polygon or other EVM networks beyond Arbitrum, Base and BNB Chain;
  • want every EVM action charged from one ATS balance on BSC instead of holding a gas coin on each network;
  • want an optional physical NFC card for tap-to-authenticate in the mobile app.

Some people run both. Each wallet is self-custodial, so two wallets mean two recovery phrases to protect. If any wallet later drops a network, your keys still control the funds; see what to do if a wallet drops a network or shuts down.

How does WATS Wallet fit a TON setup?

WATS Wallet, made by Alltoscan LLC, is a self-custody wallet for EVM networks, Solana and TON, and it does not cover Bitcoin or TRON.

You hold your keys and recovery phrase, and WATS never holds a key. On TON you pay fees in GRAM, as in any TON wallet; ATS is never used for TON or Solana fees. On EVM networks, actions are charged in ATS through an ERC-4337 paymaster from one ATS balance on BSC; read how the ATS fee model works. The optional NFC Metal Card, from $54.90 at store.watswallet.com, holds no keys and pairs to one phone; see the NFC card page. If you need Bitcoin or TRON, pair WATS Wallet with a wallet that supports them, and see the wider TON wallet field.

Frequently asked questions

Is Keeper the same wallet as Tonkeeper, and do I need to move my funds?

Yes, Keeper is Tonkeeper renamed on 15 September 2026, and tonkeeper.com now redirects to keeperwallet.com. Its homepage says "Same wallet, more chains", and the rebrand renames the same wallet rather than moving it, so existing accounts, balances and recovery phrases are unchanged and no migration is needed. Anyone asking for your recovery phrase to "migrate" to Keeper is a scammer, and this Keeper is unrelated to the Waves "Keeper Wallet".

Does Keeper wallet support Solana?

As of 7 October 2026, Solana is not among the seven networks Keeper lists: TON, Bitcoin, Ethereum, TRON, BNB Chain, Arbitrum and Base. Check keeperwallet.com for the current list, because Keeper has announced further expansion. WATS Wallet supports Solana alongside EVM networks and TON.

Can WATS Wallet pay TON fees in ATS like Keeper's Battery?

No. In WATS Wallet, TON fees are paid in GRAM and Solana fees in SOL. ATS covers EVM actions only, through an ERC-4337 paymaster from one ATS balance on BSC, and it tracks the live network cost rather than giving a discount. Keeper's Battery is a prepaid balance that currently covers fees on TON and TRON.
